There are many different levels and types of prophecy.In a very general sense they can be divided into two categories: Real Prophecy and Divine Inspiration. The difference between them can be described as active (Real Prophecy) and receptive (Divine Inspiration). In other words, Prophecy shapes the future whereas Divine Inspiration "intuits" the future or the way things are in the higher worlds -- what is a way of expecting then to accomodate the Unexpected. Both however, are true and authentic.
